The Department adopts a Quality Assurance (QA) system aimed at the planning, management, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Teaching, Research, and Third Mission/Social Impact activities, in line with University guidelines and the AVA3 system.
Functions of the CGAQ-DIP
The Departmental Quality Assurance Management Committee (CGAQ-Dip) performs functions promoting a culture of quality, controlling and verifying departmental activities, and continuously monitoring QA processes related to Teaching, Research, and Third Mission/Social Impact.
The CGAQ-Dip contributes to the self-assessment, review, and improvement activities required by the AVA3 System and supports governing bodies in planning and evaluation activities.
Monitoring and periodic review
The Department, through the CGAQ, carries out an annual monitoring and review of the implementation status of QA objectives and the results achieved, through the analysis of quantitative and qualitative indicators consistent with the University's QA system.
The outcomes of the monitoring are reported in the Annual Review Report and Review of the Three-Year Departmental Plan, documents that certify the degree to which objectives have been met and support decision-making and planning processes.
Self-assessment and continuous improvement
The Department conducts self-assessment activities of Teaching, Research, and Third Mission/Social Impact, comparing achieved results with expected ones and identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
Based on the review outcomes, potential corrective and improvement actions are defined, following a logic of continuous quality assurance and improvement. The self-assessment activity is formalized in an Annual Report, which documents the evaluation process and the development strategies adopted.
Working method and organization
The CGAQ-Dip operates through:
● periodic internal meetings;
● systematic analysis of data and indicators;
● comparison with the objectives planned in the Strategic Plan;
● drafting of monitoring and review documents;
● preparation for the ANVUR periodic accreditation visit.
Documents and tools used:
● DMS Monitoring
● DMS Review
● Collection and analysis of questionnaires (students and stakeholders)
● Annual reports
● Documentation for the ANVUR visit
The collected information is analyzed and compared with the planned objectives, to evaluate the effectiveness of the adopted actions, identify strengths and weaknesses, and define any corrective actions.
The active participation of the Director, CGAQ-Dip members, Teaching Representative, Research Representative, and representatives of individual working groups ensures a comprehensive, shared, and transparent analysis. In this context, the CGAQ-Dip acts as a link and coordinator among the working groups, pointing out specific situations that require attention. This participatory approach makes it possible to integrate different perspectives and define improvement strategies consistent with the Department's mission and overall institutional planning.

The Quality Assurance system represents a strategic tool to ensure consistency among mission, planning, and results, promoting a widespread and shared culture of quality within the Department.
Faculty and researcher satisfaction questionnaire (AVA3)
The questionnaire on the quality of services highlights a medium-high level of satisfaction, with appreciation for competence, availability, clarity of information, and timeliness of responses. The results are analyzed in the Department Council and the QA Committee; following the monitoring, critical issues were identified and targeted improvement actions were approved (e.g., optimization of response times, review of information flows, strengthening of specific support areas), with subsequent verification in the following monitoring cycle.
