Within the scope of artistic and cultural heritage management, the Department of Experimental Medicine directs the Interdepartmental Library of Experimental Medicine and Molecular Medicine, in cooperation with the Department of Molecular Medicine. Established following the reorganization of Sapienza's Departments, this library is the result of the consolidation of several libraries.
It comprises three locations, including the branch housed in the History of Medicine building, founded in the 1930s by Adalberto Pazzini, which possesses a rich bibliographic and documentary collection featuring approximately 3,000 volumes published before 1830.
The library participates in the digitization project conducted by Google and coordinated by the Sapienza Library System. The digitized volumes are accessible via the Sapienza catalog. Several personal scientific archives are annexed to the library, documenting the history of Italian biomedicine between the 19th and 20th centuries. It serves a specialized user base but also includes a reading room regularly visited by many students.
